AFWERX and the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) are gathering thought leaders and subject matter experts to focus on current and future pilot training challenges and potential best practice solutions to develop a trainer (simulation or something else) which allows pilots to learn the fine motor skills and visual perception of movement necessary to accomplish mid-air refueling in the B-52 bomber and other Air-to-air refueling (AAR).
Over 1,700 students and faculty will gather in Southern New Mexico for the annual Spaceport America Cup. Drawn by the opportunity to collaborate and compete at a world-class spaceport facility, they represent the best and brightest from more than 150 institutions located all across the world.
The Air Force is seeking to identify innovative Digital Engineering (DE) technologies and processes that aid in transforming AF acquisition from “analog” to “digital” and allow the AF to rapidly and continuously field disruptive capabilities. Digital Engineering depends on the creation of virtual, digital models and environments that are nearly perfect, harnessing their full power to learn and experiment so the actual, physical systems are fully integrated and tested before they are produced.
